As Claude said "...everything started with a love story..." after animating Céline Dion's wedding in Las Vegas Claude came to Jim's wedding in Santa Fe and there was born the first creations of this album,the two tracks -Behest and Peyotee-.

During his travels over the next three years Claude completed this album thru his meetings with inspiring musicians to be able to offer, "his most beautiful story : LOVE ".

This new endeavor marks the return of my good friends Jai uttal and Geoffrey Gordon who were original members of the very first ensemble. we also welcome the new voices of Consuelo Luz, Gina Sala, Sita Jamieson and Benjamin Mahua of the Shippibo tribe from Peru, along with the talents of Armand Amar, filmaker Wilem Malten, peacemaker Jimmy Twyman and writer Bernard Pomerance.

Once more the union of time and distance brings us together. This music is dedicated to the messengers of peace, and to the second voice, the voice of the heart, the voice of love.

As we transformed this recording from concept to reality we were taken by the universality of these voices - the absolute common ground that is shared - the one voice from which all voices originate.

TRANCENDENCE

1995

On trancendence we have used the alchemy of technology to fuse sampled sounds with the warmth and organic qualities of live percussion, vocals and instruments creating a new body for an ancient soul. As a result, we find the prayerful voice of the Inuit shaman next to the evocative expression of the east indian Dotara, we find the amazing accapella of the Tahitian Choir alongside the GubGubi from Begal and the Dumbek from Africa.

All together, they weave a musical tapestry of ancient traditions within a 20th century form.
In the Tibetan lineage, this is called TULKU-new body/old soul.
